Enda Stevens insists his focus is with Sheffield United, despite being named in the provisional Republic of Ireland squad for the first-time last week.
But the wing-back hopes to make the cut for the forthcoming friendlies against Turkey and France, as he looks to make his senior international debut.
Reflecting on the call-up, he remarked: "It was a great feeling to get the call. I heard from the Gaffer when I arrived for training one day last week.
"They notify the club first I think, but once I found out I was delighted. The lads were great, everyone congratulated me and shook my hand, but you quickly have to refocus on Sheffield United.
"The squad gets cut to a 25-man squad, so hopefully I make that. Everyone wants to represent their country and I'm no different."
