Speaking ahead of Saturday's trip to Ipswich Town, boss Chris Wilder believes there are certain similarities between the Blades and the Tractor Boys.
The manager remarked: "Ipswich are a competitive side, that's the work that manager and club have done to get the most out of what they've got and others like Brentford, Preston and Millwall are doing the same.
"We're in that category too, there is a group of clubs that work and manage sensibly, but all the managers, myself included, would love to have what some of the others have got too."
And Wilder is delighted to see his side competing in what he labels a 'powerful division'.
He added: "We've set expectations for the fans really. We talk about playing at our maximum and for the majority of the season we've said yes and given ourselves opportunities to win matches consistently.
"This a powerful division, several clubs are pushing everything in pursuit of that Premier League dream, the competition is fierce and we're right amongst."
"People are going to great lengths to get into the top-flight, but we're in a position where we have a chance to compete."
