United's FA Women's Championship application has been submitted but there's still work to do on the pitch, confirms Ladies boss Carla Ward.

The Blades return to action on Sunday with a trip to Long Eaton United.

Currently sitting second in the FA Women's Premier League Midlands Division, United have six games left - all away from home - and the aim remains to finish as high and as positively as possible.

Ward said: "We are 15 unbeaten, we've got a good group and although we have games postponed recently, they don't get time off, we have used the indoor pitch at the Academy so we are still fully prepared. We have a target and hopefully we reach that come May.

"The application has lifted the girls. The girls have bought into what we are trying to do. We've increased training dramatically so they are saying they want to be a part of it. This group of girls, with the new additions, are capable of going and winning all the games left in this league."
