"It is a good opportunity, the club is in great shape," said Sheffield United Ladies boss Carla Ward.
Earlier this month, the Blades submitted an application to be part of the restructured FA Women's Championship. If successful, the Blades could rise from the fourth to the second tier of elite ladies football.
Ward and United are busy working hard behind the scenes to be ready, if good news is forthcoming.
"We are planning and prepping, there's months of hard work gone on, but we need to make sure we are right if we are successful.
"In many ways we are already have WSL (FA Women's Super League) standards off the pitch. We are getting there and we are starting to do the right things."
