Chris Wilder praised skipper Billy Sharp, following Tuesday victory over Burton Albion.
A sublime touch from Sharp helped create the second goal, as the Blades moved to within two points of the top-six, much to the delight of the boss.
He remarked: "The second goal really sealed the game for us.
"Billy came out of the team for a period, but his attitude has been brilliant and since the Leeds game he's really got himself going again.
"He's been at it in training and his performances have been really good. Billy links up play, it was fantastic touch in the build-up and a tremendous finish from Brooksy."
Wilder added: "David needs to make an impact off the bench, he's not ready to start games yet and that's a medical issue.
"But he's building up again and we've missed that clinical edge he is capable of producing and we need to be clinical when the chances come, there was a swagger at 2-0."
