Billy Sharp was keen to take the positives out of Saturday's stalemate with Ipswich Town.
A tricky playing surface at Portman Road hampered both teams and despite hitting the post through James Wilson, United had to settle for a share of the spoils in Suffolk.
The skipper remarked: "We're disappointed we didn't get all three points, but it was difficult to find that bit of quality on that surface.
"Ipswich make it that way I suppose, but it's the same for both teams, it was competitive, it was a battle, but we did enough to edge it and win the game.
"Hopefully after two home games this looks a better point than it does now."
Sharp added: "I was disappointed not to hit the target on the rebound, after Willo hit the post. I was hoping to dive in on it but he hit the shot well and the ball skipped up off the surface."
