James Hanson has left Bramall Lane by mutual consent, after both parties came to an agreement with regards to the remaining term of the player's contract.

The 30-year-old, who joined the Blades from Bradford City in January 2017, was instrumental during the second half of United's record-breaking title-winning Sky Bet League One campaign.

For the record, the striker made 15 appearances as a Blade, scoring once, on his debut against AFC Wimbledon, and spent the second half of last season on loan at Bury.

Hanson, who was made available for transfer by boss Chris Wilder at the end of last season, is the fourth player to leave this summer, following the departures of Chris Hussey, Louis Reed and Samir Carruthers.
