Kieron Freeman is delighted that the footballs are out as United's pre-season plans continue in Portugal.
Monday saw two tough sessions for the United players, including high-tempo action in a 10v10 training game.
"I'd forgotten how hard it is, but the balls are out and the boys are enjoying it.," Kieron told the iFollow cameras.
"We've been lucky with the weather in England recently, helping us get a base for our fitness but the sessions have been tough. It is nice to have the footballs at your feet, I've been at other places when it is just trainers on."
Kieron was part of the team that beat Spanish outfit Malaga last season and is looking forward to Thursday evening's clash with Portuguese top flight side Maritimo.
He added: "The game against Malaga was a good result but they had a lot of the ball. You can learn against foreign teams who look after the ball and play out from the back but it is good for fitness to chase."
