Chris Wilder was delighted following Tuesday's friendly with Inter at Bramall Lane for a number of reasons, on and off the pitch.
David McGoldrick put the Blades ahead, only for Mauro Icardi to equalise for the Serie A giants on a night where 18,883 were in attendance at the Lane.
Reflecting, Wilder remarked: "It was a great night for our football club, to entertain an absolute giant of European football and it was a proper game.
"Both teams wanted to win, both wanted to play and make tackles and it was a great experience for my players to play against a team with such quality all over the park.
"It was an even game, we enjoyed a good first half hour or so, we scored and forced them to change their shape.
"It has been a fantastic effort for the people involved in getting Inter over to play us and for those that have come out to attend the game."
The Blades boss added: "It wasn't just a night for United fans, it was a night for the region to come and watch Inter and to get nearly 19,000 inside the stadium for a friendly is unbelievable really.
"I was disappointed on Saturday but not surprised by the reaction of my players. Henderson was tidy and made a great save, John Egan was fantastic for 70 minutes having being thrown into a back three and David McGoldrick combined well with Leon and took his goal fantastically well."
