Chris Wilder was again pleased to win another game, as pre-season preparations continued at Bradford City on Tuesday evening.
Skipper Billy Sharp netted the game's decisive goal, after United had been pegged back having led by two goals at the break.
And the Blades boss insists results do matter, he remarked: "I've just said to the players; pre-season is always crucial. Not just in terms of the training or the friendlies, but it's all about attitude.
"And apart from one miserable night in Halifax, we've been bang at for the majority of three pre-season campaigns now.
"We at it first-half here and deservedly led 2-0. I want to win friendlies like I do league games and if you saw my reaction when we scored a late goal in a tight game in Portugal last week, there was prove."
Wilder added: "I want the players to have that feeling of being successful and experience of winning games and first-half we played really well and took our chances.
"Second-half we didn't have that flow and we have to learn to play forward quicker when we are pressed high up the pitch, but it'll come and we'll get sharper."
