James Wilson is hoping to bring an 'extra dimension' to Chris Wilder's options at the top of the pitch.
The striker, who joined on-loan from Manchester United on Wednesday afternoon, is also looking for regular first-team football whilst with the Blades.
He remarked: "United are doing really well in the league and I feel I can offer something different to the strikers already here.
"We're pushing at the right end of the division and hopefully I can add that extra dimension to the squad."
The 22-year-old added: "I could have stayed at Manchester United and played in the reserves, but I wanted to come out and test myself again.
"The manager wears his heart on his sleeve, you know exactly what he wants and I'm looking forward to working with him.
"The club have enjoyed a terrific start and the aim has to be to chase a play-off place at least."
