Sophie Bell helped herself to a hat-trick as United Ladies kicked off their 2018 league programme with a victory.

In the FA Premier Women's League Midlands League encounter at Solihull, there was a frantic start with both sides scoring in the opening ten minutes - Tanya Marsden on target for the Blades.

Marsden and Eve Marshall had opportunities put the Blades in front before Bell netted on 26 minutes. However, Solihull levelled before the break, benefitting from sloppy defending.

United, though, were the dominant side in the second half and two goals in three minutes from Bell secured an impressive hat-trick.

And the seal was put on the victory by Millie Kenyon on 69 minutes.

Blades: Houldsworth, Brown (Robinson 70), Neary, Marshall, Barker, Hartley, Pearson, Bell, Kenyon (Hickerman 76), Shaw (Beanland 76), Marsden.
