Billy Sharp is hoping for an 'interesting tie' in round five of the Emirates FA Cup after overcoming Preston North End at Bramall Lane.
And it was the skipper who scored the decisive goal, netting from the penalty spot having been fouled by Tom Clarke.
Reflecting on the game, Sharp commented: "It was nice to get a game and I thought we did well in the second-half.
"The Gaffer said at half-time that we needed to lift it a bit and whoever did that would probably win the tie.
"Thankfully we kept going, stuck at it and found an opportunity to get ourselves over the line.
"We owed Preston one for the result before Christmas and they do play in a way that makes for tight, scrappy games.
"But we matched them up better this time though and probably deserved it in the end."
On the challenges ahead, the skipper added: "There are some interesting ties out there, Wednesday are still in the cup, one of the Premier League big boys away would be good for the club.
"But Tuesday is a massive game and it would be a big three points if we could get them.
"We stopped the rot and we've turned things round with a couple of wins in the cup and victory over Norwich.
"The next three games are on the television, so it's an opportunity for the lads to show what we're about and Aston Villa are a big, big club in this division."
