Jack O'Connell admitted losing so late in the day to Aston Villa was a blow, but insists the Blades will come out fighting against Wolves at the weekend.

Speaking after a Robert Snodgrass's goal condemned the Blades to defeat, despite a dominant performance at the Lane, O'Connell acknowledged the quality of the strike.

He commented: "It was a good performance, but it wasn't to be unfortunately. I don't know if we did enough to win the game, but we certainly deserved something.

"But right at the end, they've shown their quality on the ball and that's what can happen.

"It would have been nice to keep a clean sheet and roll into the weekend with a point, but we have to pick ourselves up now and go again."

On hitting the crossbar early on and his need to contribute goals from defence, O'Connell added: "I need to score more goals.

"I've not scored yet this season and although we work hard on the training pitch it just won't come.

"I've been trying all season, but it hasn't come, if I can't score I like to keep clean sheets and help the team."
