Lee Evans says he jumped at the chance to join the Blades on a permanent basis.
The 23-year-old was speaking after putting pen-to-paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal on Wednesday, with United paying Wolves an undisclosed fee for his services.
Speaking for the first time as a United player, he remarked: "As soon as I heard of Sheffield United's interest I was on to my agent to make the deal happen as quickly as possible and I'm delighted to now be a Blade.
"I heard through my agent around a fortnight ago there was some interest but at first I presumed that would come in the summer because I had signed on-loan at Wigan for the season.
"But then Wolves recalled me and I knew a bid had been submitted. I was delighted, I just couldn't wait to get up to Sheffield and get the deal over the line."
Evans added: "I expected to play my football at Wigan this season and it's gone well there, but in football things change quickly and you never know.
"I'm just thankfully for this opportunity, the manager has shown a lot of faith in me and I just want to repay him."
