United's first business of the January transfer window has seen an experienced striker depart.
James Hanson has joined Bury on-loan for the rest of the season, with the 30-year-old moving to The Energy Check Stadium at Gigg Lane with immediate effect.
The striker has made only two appearances for Chris Wilder's side this season, the last of which came from the bench against Fulham in November.
In total, Hanson has featured 15 times for United since arriving from Bradford City for an undisclosed fee in January 2017.
Boss Wilder remarked: "James hasn't played much football this season and needs to go out and play some games.
"I've got to look after James, he knows it's a good move for him and I've also got to make sure we're in the best possible position to move for our targets when they become available."
