Doherty's strike nominated

Seven stunning efforts from the month of December have been nominated for the final LFE Goal of the Month of 2017.

Matt Mayes (Portsmouth), Caolan Boyd-Munce (Birmingham City) and Ellis Chapman (Lincoln City) have been the three previous winners during the 2017/18 season so far, booking their place in the Goal of the Season reckoning.

The latest instalment includes spectacular FA Youth Cup strikes from Jordan Doherty (Sheffield United) and Tommy Hope (Milton Keynes Dons), while Bristol Rovers team-mates Lucas Tomlinson and Tom Mehew lock horns for the prize.

Elsewhere, Henry Woods (Gillingham), Jason Knight (Derby County) and Tylor Golden (Wigan Athletic) all produced terrific hits from distance to earn their place on the shortlist, which is as follows:
