Chris Wilder says he will demand a performance from his team on Saturday, despite admitting he will make a number of changes for the Emirates FA Cup third round tie at Ipswich Town.
Speaking ahead of departing for Portman Road, Wilder remarked: "I'm delighted to be entering the FA Cup at the third-round stage in January and we'd like to progress.
"The mentality of the group is excellent too, we went to Burnley a month ago and played very well against their second XI in a friendly.
"It's an opportunity for players to come in and give it a real go and it's a chance to progress into the fourth round.
"There won't be any excuses, we're going with what we're going with and whoever plays I expect them to give 100% and give me something to think about.
"All the players are fighting for a place in the team and I'd just like a bit more competition for places and players making a difference from off the bench."
Meanwhile, the Blades boss hopes to receive a double fitness boost this month.
He added: "Ched is back in full-time training, but Saturday will come too soon for him and Kieron is back out on the grass.
"Ched needs some minutes in the next week or so and the same will apply for Kieron towards the back end of the month."
