Billy Sharp says the players must right the wrongs of the defeat at Hull when they face Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Tuesday evening.
A victory for the Blades in Berkshire would see them move back into the top-six and the skipper is confident of a positive response to the loss at the KCOM Stadium.
Sharp remarked: "We missed a big opportunity at Hull to take a step in the right direction, but we stalled.
"There aren't many teams playing this week, it's our game in hand and we have to get back on track."
He added: "Reading are scoring goals, they're just conceding too many at the moment, but it doesn't really matter who we play.
"Hull are scrapping for their lives at the bottom and wanted it more than us the other night.
"We have to make sure we want it more than Reading on Tuesday and hopefully our quality can come through."
