Chris Wilder hopes a productive Christmas on the pitch will set the Blades up nicely for the challenges that await in 2019.
Speaking ahead of Saturday's trip to Suffolk to tackle Ipswich Town, Wilder is well aware of the importance of picking up a healthy return of points over the hectic festive period.
He remarked: "You want to put yourself in a position come the turn of the year, you want to be in the race and we are after 22 games.
"That's been determined by our past results, people talk about us not beating teams in the top six, but nobody will be bothered about that if we achieve something."
Wilder added: "We want to win every game though and we want to prove we are one of the best sides in the division, but we're happy enough with our position.
"The Christmas schedule is a normal Championship week, we've got to overcome it and go into 2019 in good nick."
