John Egan admitted the Blades must learn from the below-par second-half performance, which proved costly against West Brom.

Speaking after the home loss, the Republic of Ireland international remarked: "Against the top sides in this division, you need to play well and try and dominate. We did that and took the lead, but we needed to get to half-time in a winning position.

"We could have kicked on then, but we shouldn't be coming out second-half and being so far off it like we were really, we're a better side than we showed.

Egan added: "I've no doubt that we'll learn from it, but we need to, we don't lack effort and quality, but we've got to show it for 90 minutes.

"We know ourselves it wasn't good enough for us, the Gaffer, the staff and the fans, it's us that do it on the pitch, if you don't perform you get punished in this division."
