Chris Wilder was visibly delighted with the Boxing Day success over Derby County.
Speaking in the aftermath of witnessing an excellent display by his players against Frank Lampard's Rams, the Blades boss thought his side got exactly what they deserved, to move up to fourth in the Sky Bet Championship.
He remarked: "I've said before this is a really good group of players, playing possibly, without being arrogant the best football this club has seen for a long time.
"In every department, whether it is last-ditch defending, reaction to disappointment, or showing the drive to go and win a game, we've shown all those qualities and that performance is right up there with the best performances in my time here."
Wilder added: "We're just looking and give the squad a boost going into the second part of the season, winning matches in this division isn't easy and you've got to do a lot of things right in every game to be successful.
"Hopefully we'll be able to strengthen but at the moment I'm working with what I've got and we keep delivering the goods, this time against a powerful Derby side.
"I've been okay with the performances of late, but we're here to win games of football and we married a performance with a desire to win and I'm delighted to get the three points."
