Chris Wilder is confident his newest recruit Kean Bryan will prove to be a shrewd addition to his squad.
Speaking upon confirmation of the deal of the England youth international on a three-year deal on Thursday morning, Wilder remarked: "Kean is a player that has come through the England system and has been at Manchester City for a number of years.
"He went out on-loan last season and got 30 odd games at Oldham and this isn't us just plucking someone, we look like we did with Fleck, O'Connell, Duffy, we're not lazy recruiters and Kean improves us and offers versatility.
"It was important we brought in natural cover for Jack O'Connell who played every league game last season."
The boss added: "He is technical sound, has pace and is aggressive and he wanted to come here. We've done a great deal with Manchester City including a sell-on and buy back option, but he wouldn't be the first player to leave City and still go on to have a great career.
"It's over to us now and up to him to seize this opportunity. There are a host of players who have come out of City and are now back at the top level."
