Chris Wilder is hoping the Bramall Lane factor will help his side make a positive start to the new season, against opponents he believes will go well this term.
Speaking ahead of Saturday's televised clash with Swansea City, the Blades boss remarked: "We're hoping for another positive start. We're geared up to go and we'll be facing difficult opponents that were in the Premier League last season.
"They've got a new manager who'll be looking for a good start and those three relegated clubs have some real power and will be favourites to go straight back up, that's the way it is.
"But I said when I arrived teams enjoyed coming to Bramall Lane too much, the pitch was lovely, the stadium fantastic and the showers nice and warm."
Wilder continued: "Apart from the pitch and the showers everything else has changed! The supporters certainly get right behind the team and I want this to be a hostile place to visit.
"I've got no problem with teams coming here and deserving to win, but they have to go through everything and do everything to beat my team.
"The likes of Norwich, Fulham and Villa won here last season, but they were flat out on the deck at the final whistle and have had to do very well to get a result."
