David McGoldrick thought the Blades were good value for Saturday's win at QPR.

The striker, who won and scored the penalty that proved decisive praised United's character after consecutive reversals.

He remarked: "We just wanted to get on the board. We let two poor goals in against Swansea and we had a crazy 25 minutes at Middlesbrough, we didn't defend properly, and it proved costly.

"We deserved this one though, in the last 10 minutes we stood firm and held out for the three points.

"It's not an easy place to come, but we stood up and did what we needed to do to get the victory.

"Now we have to build on the win, our aim is to better last season, we're no mugs and we've got some very good players."

Looking ahead, McGoldrick added: "I was stiff on Sunday morning that's for sure, but let's just see how it settles down for Tuesday.

"Billy Sharp and Leon Clarke are top strikers, both did very well last season, but partnerships just come naturally and whoever plays, we manage to link-up."
