Chris Wilder wasn't surprised to see his side produce their best performance of the season to date against Bolton Wanderers.
Speaking after the impressive 3-0 victory at the University of Bolton Stadium, Wilder felt his players got their rewards following an excellent week on the training ground.
He remarked: "We'd had a very good week's training and that performance was building really.
"The players have taken us forward and moved us on. We set them up and make the substitutions, but they're the ones who go out there and produce the goods.
"The last three performances, including the Hull game, have been consistently good and we've got to keep it up."
The boss added: "We've got a huge game on Saturday and it's one we can look forward to. We've got nothing to lose and if we can get a result there we've had a decent start to the season.
"Leon had a tight hamstring, so that was a precaution. But the attitude of my senior pros has been brilliant. Billy and Duff when they were out of the team and the likes of Stearman and McGoldrick, all of them have been fantastic."
