Chris Wilder says Leon Clarke's inclusion in the PFA Championship Team of the Year is fully deserved.
Congratulating his striker prior to Saturday's trip to Birmingham City, the United boss remarked: "Leon has been a great signing for us, for what he did for us last season and more importantly this season.
"He's enjoyed his football here and it's a big accolade to receive, especially when you look at some of the players in this division at the top of the pitch.
"It's an outstanding achievement for Leon, but knowing him, he'll be focused on us achieving as a football club."
Wilder added: "It's his first year back at this level and he does have Championship experience throughout much of his career, but there is always room for improvement.
"He's had a great year in front of goal, but that's largely because of us creating a host of chances in most games."
