Simon Moore is looking to make the number one shirt his own in the final weeks of the season.
The experienced Championship stopper returned to the side on Monday, as Chelsea loanee began his three-match suspension having seen red at Brentford on Good Friday.
And Moore was pleased with his contribution against Cardiff, remarking: "I knew it was going to be difficult coming back into the team on a night where conditions weren't ideal for goalkeepers.
"But I train my socks off ready for an opportunity and however that comes you have to take it. Jamal has been excellent in the last month or so, so I was under pressure.
"I was pleased with my performance, but just bitterly disappointed with the result, we now have to bounce back on Saturday."
On the competition for the place between the sticks, Moore added: "We both want to be playing, we've enjoyed a really good battle for much of the season and we're both worked extremely hard.
"Jake Eastwood has come on leaps and bounds too and that's down to Wardy who does everything possible to give us the best opportunity of performing on the pitch."
