Burton 1-1 United Ladies - report

9 April 2018

Sponsored by

United Ladies made it 17 consecutive games unbeaten in the league with a draw with Burton Albion, played at the home of Stafford Rangers FC.

This was the second of six consecutive away games in the Blades final phase of the season. As at Long Eaton United two weeks earlier, United had the better of the play but again were held and had to settle for just a point.

United had taken the lead after a strong start when Hollie Barker and Nat Shaw combined for Barker to slot the ball home. Albion equalised on the half hour, through Jordan Atkin.

United stay second but the recent dropped points have made the battle for that runners-up spot likely to go on into May with United still to visit TNS, who have a game in hand and are just a point behind.

United resume on the 22nd April at runaway leaders Loughborough Foxes.

Blades: Houldsworth, Brown, Marshall, Froggatt, Barker, Bell, Hickerman, Spurr, Pearson, Kenyon, Shaw.
Unused: Hartley, Beanland, Neary, Stevens, Marsden.
