Chris Wilder believes Saturday's opponents Birmingham City are under 'massive pressure' to stay up and he hopes his side can take advantage.
Speaking ahead of the weekend's trip to St Andrew's, the United boss remarked: "I spoke to Harry Redknapp at the start of season when we were signing Clayton Donaldson and they had players queuing up to join them.
"They might think the league table is upside down with the likes of us and Millwall competing for the play-offs and themselves and Sunderland down at the wrong end.
"Nobody would have expected Birmingham City to be struggling with the players they signed, but it can happen at this level if you don't get it right."
Wilder continued: "They're a huge club who will be under massive pressure to stay up. But big clubs can go down, we know that better than anyone really.
"They're where they are for a reason, but they've got some excellent players and they've picked up under Garry (Monk) who is a very good manager in this division and one who has manage in the Premier League too."
