Jake Wright says the Blades will be ready for the challenge that waits them at Hillsborough on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking ahead of the clash, the experienced defender commented: "Everyone is excited and there is a buzz throughout the squad but this is the first time we've really spoken about.
"We've started the season well despite the loss against Norwich, we've had some decent results and it's good that we've had a free week to make sure we're ready come Sunday.
"The manager and skipper ram home the importance of the rivalry all the time, they looked for their result after every game last season and obviously once the fixtures were out it was the one everyone looked for."
On the rivalry itself, Wright, who lives in the city knows how important it is to everyone, adding: "My eldest lad plays for Dronfield and the manager is a Wednesdayite and a lot of the parents are too, so I've had a bit of stick, but I know from my United fans what it means.
"What is good is kids here either supporter one or the other, you're either a Blade or an Owl."
