'He'll do for me', says boss

Chris Wilder is refusing to worry about the fitness of several players following Saturday's defeat against Norwich City at Bramall Lane.

And that's because of the gutsy performance of his side against the Canaries, despite missing five strikers.

The boss commented: "Both Billy and Leon picked up their injuries at Bolton, but after Saturday I know whoever plays, whoever I pick and whatever formation I play, these boys will give me everything.

"They will give it their all for me, themselves and most importantly the supporters and like me I'm sure the supporters will back them."

Of Ched Evans, who played 90 minutes at the weekend despite needing ankle surgery, Wilder added:

"Ched stuck his hand up to play, despite his problems, so I can't be critical.

"What else could we have done, he will do for me and deserves enormous credit, he could have easily said no, but he didn't.

"We had an opportunity to go top and I'm sure plenty would have swapped places with us, Ched didn't duck on us and that emphasises the character of the lads."
