United's U23s slipped to defeat against Coventry City on Monday afternoon, despite taking the lead.
Jordan Hallam's early opener was cancelled out by second-half strikes from Stedman and Sayoud, as the Blades were edged out at the Alan Higgs Centre.
The Blades were quickly out of the blocks and deservedly took the lead in just the sixth minute, as HALLAM raced through and calmly finished into the bottom corner.
The first-half, was controlled by the Blades, although the visitors were unable to increase their advantage before the interval.
And United were made to pay in the 50th minute, as STEDMAN took full advantage of a loose back pass to restore parity.
It was now the home side who were on top and Dewhurst had to make a smart save with his feet to deny Crowther.
At the other end, United almost regained the lead, but Smith was unable to get a clean shot away after some indecision in the home ranks from a long-throw.
On the hour, the game turned decisively in the Sky Blues favour as SAYOUD reacted quickest to score after a cross to the back post wasn't collected cleanly by Dewhurst.
The final action of note saw Smith turn smartly and create space for a shot, but unfortunately his effort went narrowly over as United slipped to a second loss of the season.
