Boss Chris Wilder hopes his side rise to the occasion when they meet Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

And the manager is sure his players will continue to do themselves justice, remarking: "We said we wouldn't change our approach from last season and we haven't.

"Middlesbrough rightly so were the pre-season favourites and Cardiff have started like a house on fire and are deservedly top of the division, so they were two tough games on the road.

"But we know each game home or away will be a challenge and that will be the case against another team relegated from the Premiership last season on Saturday."

On Sunderland, Wilder added: "They've kept the bulk of the players from last season and added to it, they certainly haven't lost too many.

"We're in the division to enjoy it, embrace it and attack it. We're going to endure pressure and have possession against us at times, but we believe we will and have already caused teams problems.

"Simon (Grayson) did a ridiculously fantastic good job at Preston, he got the best out of what he had and went under the radar."
