Jack O'Connell says the secret behind United's positive beginning to life back in the Championship is a simple one.

Speaking ahead of Saturday's clash with Norwich City at Bramall Lane, the defender commented: "We work hard to be successful. We work hard every time we train or play and hopefully it can continue.

"It was good to win at Sunderland and even better to back it up at Bolton.

"We've got a winning mentality on the back of last season and we've won the last four matches.

"We believe we will win consistently and with the way we play we pose problems. We never take a backwards step and although there will be tougher tests to come and I'm sure we can continue to do well."

On United's defensive chemistry and the quality within the group, O'Connell added: "Jake Wright has an unbelievable win record and he settles into the team straight away when he comes in.

"Richard (Stearman) had a positive start too and myself and Bash have carried on from last season.

"We knew last year that we'd have a decent side for the Championship and we've started well."
