Chris Wilder has revealed several key players are closing in on a return to full fitness.
Speaking ahead of the trip to the City Ground to take on Mark Warburton's Forest, the Blades boss says the health of the squad is improving with each passing day.
He commented: "Billy was ten days into a three-week injury prior to Wolves and thankfully although he is back out on the grass, we've not had to use him in the last two matches.
"He is stepping up and recovering and will be in the squad for Nottingham Forest, as will Clayton Donaldson.
"Richard (Stearman) and James (Hanson) are back out training too and Caolan (Lavery) has got a mask to wear."
Wilder added: "The only other one who is struggling a bit is Kieron (Freeman), but Enda (Stevens) is expected to be fit after a scan on his ankle.
"Overall it's good news on that front, because it hasn't been great. We've got through it though and that's because of the versatility and attitude of the group."
