Head of Academy Goalkeeping Jamie Annerson left the club earlier this month to take up a new challenge with The FA and has been replaced by the vastly experienced Matt Duke.

Annerson, a former England youth international and Academy graduate, spent five years working within the system which he progressed through as a player and played a role in the development of Jake Eastwood and previously Aaron Ramsdale.

Speaking of the staffing changes at the SteelPhalt Academy, Academy Manager Travis Binnion remarked: "Firstly we'd like to thank Jamie for his hardwork, professionalism and dedication during his time on the staff and wish him all the very best in the future, in what is an exciting new post for him.

"But we're delighted to have been able to bring Matt back. He had an excellent playing career, he's a Sheffield bloke and a Blade and an excellent goalkeeper coach, who enjoys a good working relationship with Darren Ward and all of the first-team management."
