Jake Wright acknowledges the loss of Paul Coutts for the remainder of the season leaves a big void, but insists the Blades must react positively.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday's encounter against Fulham the experienced defender remarked: "We're all gutted for Couttsy and he is a big loss to the team.
"He's been on fire this year and is an important player to us. He is a big reason we've been doing so well as a lot of our play goes through him.
"But we can't feel sorry for ourselves, we've got to remain positive and bounce back quickly and it's an opportunity for whoever comes into the team."
And with the squad having already proved they are capable of handling the loss of important players, Wright is backing them to do it again.
He added: "We've had setbacks already this season with the likes of Billy, Ched, Kieron and George all missing spells and we've coped.
"We're gutted for Paul and we're disappointed he won't play again this season, but we have to cope.
"Whoever comes in has strengths and weaknesses, but they're at this club for a reason and the manager will have brought them here to do a job."
