Chris Wilder has updated the media on the fitness of Jamal Blackman and George Baldock ahead of this weekend's home encounter with Hull City.
The duo were both replaced in the midweek defeat at QPR, due to injury.
On goalkeeper Blackman, the Blades chief said: "He went to hospital straight after the game, thankfully it is not as bad a first thought. He's Chelsea's player and as parent club they have taken the lead and are assessing him. We are waiting to see.
"Fortunately, there's no bone damage but he was in a lot of discomfort after the game in his lower back.
"It is an important position and fortunately we have some strong individuals in that position, competition is vital and they drive each other on."
United, though, are not so well blessed in the right wing-back role with Kieron Freeman already ruled out so it was a blow when Baldock hobbled off in the second half at Loftus Road.
"George coming off was more precautionary," said Wilder. "He had tightness in his calf and hamstring and we took the decision to take him off, taking into account the Kieron Freeman situation. George will train and we'll see if he's available for Saturday."
