Chris Basham acknowledged the dressing room was 'deflated' following Tuesday loss to Fulham.
Unfortunately for the Blades, Fulham edged a nine-goal thriller at Bramall Lane, although a spirited fightback almost yielded the most unlikely of points.
Basham remarked: "We were deflated after the game at the manner of the defeat.
"Cam held it hands up for the first goal, the lad produces an excellent finish for the second and I could perhaps have done more to get back for the third goal, but it's a tough one when you're trying to get forward."
The versatile performer added: "Then at 3-2 we went all out to try and win the game in the second-half, the Gaffer made positive changes too.
"In injury-time when we've clawed it back to 5-4 you start thinking we could snatch a point, but it was just one of those game, on one of those nights.
"We just couldn't play at a high enough tempo for long enough periods or find that momentum."
