Chris Wilder says he isn't worried to whether or not his summer recruits have experience of playing in the Championship.
Wilder who has already brought in three players during the close season sights three examples of players currently playing in the Premiership to back up his point.
He remarked: "The likes of Jamie Vardy and Dele Alli never played in the Championship and look at the Bournemouth team that's done so well in the Premier League.
"Harry Arter played for Woking and they don't look at him as a non-league, he is a very good midfielder playing at the highest level.
"I like bringing in players from the leagues below us, ones with a point to prove and a desire to improve."
Wilder added: "This club in the past has signed players with big CV's and they haven't produced.
"Now I'm not guaranteeing our signings will all make it, but I'd rather work with them rather than players on their way out just looking for a big pay cheque and to see their careers out.
"We can't compete with the powerhouses financially, but we will continue to improve and progress in a structured way, whilst remaining ambitious.
"We did it our way last summer and got the majority of the decisions right and we want to do the same again to ensure we have a competitive squad for the Championship."
