Chris Wilder says the Blades will be 'competitive and ambitious' in the Championship, but insists everything will be done in a structured manner.
Speaking recently, Wilder commented: "Transfer discussions, initial bids and valuations of players are an on-going process, we have to be patient at this time of year but we won't let it drag on too long.
"Clubs want decent prices for their players just like we would and understandably clubs don't want to lose certain players.
"We got a budget to work with, we've got a weekly budget and a transfer kitty. We won't shout about what we're paying or what we have, but we do have money to spend."
The Blades boss added: "I would hope that the owners trust me to spend the money wisely, as I have done previously and as I will do moving forward.
"We will be competitive and we will be ambitious. I don't want to have someone on a lot more than anyone else, but at the same time the players understand the bar rises and although we know players will cost more we will remain sensible."
