Speaking just before the Brook:Spence press conference got underway, Kevin McCabe expressed his excitement at the prospect of 27,000 fans turning out to see local hero Kell Brook defend his world title.
"With he excitement we have had at Bramall Lane during the whole of the just finished season, this is the icing on the cake. It should be a marvellous evening for boxing fans throughout the country, and indeed throughout the world.
"To be able to host Kell in his home football club in front of a massive crowd and a massive TV audience is everything he could wish for, and everything we could wish for."
The Sheffield United co-owner added that high profile events like this are beneficial for the city and the wider region.
"Sheffield has always been a boxing city, but never as successful as in recent times, with Herol Bomber Graham, Johnny Nelson and now in the present day with Kell Brook being World Champion. It's a wonderful era for the city, and success begets success, with the younger boxers here today from South Yorkshire."
