United's U23s controlled long periods of Monday's goalless draw against Millwall at Stocksbridge on Monday afternoon.
But unfortunately, the Blades, who named three trialists in the starting XI, were unable to break down the resolute Lions, in a game which ended ten versus ten, following two first-half red cards.
On the stalemate, Academy Manager Travis Binnion remarked: "We dominated for long periods, especially after the sending offs and enjoyed plenty of possession, but ultimately we didn't do enough in the final third."
Everton midfielder Ryan Harrington played a full game, as did Huddersfield Town defender Danny Kane, but fellow trialist Travis Johnson was withdrawn prior to the half hour.
All the action of note in the first period came in the final 15 minutes of the half. A Millwall defender was the first to see red for aiming a kick at Wright, who was subsequently booked for his part in the incident.
The Blades were immediately on the front foot and Smith was denied at the back post from point-blank range following Bennett's deep cross, before the right-back had a couple of sights of goal himself.
Kelly then had an effort cleared off the line, before United surrendered their numerical advantage as Wright was dismissed for a second bookable offence following a late challenge.
The second-half was an even affair, the Blades had more of the ball, but Millwall defended deep and looked to hit the hosts on the break. And in the 75th minute Eastwood was called into action to ensure the spoils were shared.
Blades: Eastwood, Bennett, K. Smith (Mallon 76), Harrington, Kane, Kelly, Slater (Graham 69), Reed, Wright, Brooks, Johnson (Greaves 29).
