Season Review - February 2017

7 June 2017

United entered what had long been earmarked as a pivotal month of the season without a win in three matches.

But six games later and with 11 more points on the board, United had beaten AFC Wimbledon, Peterborough and crucially Bolton Wanderers, in addition to draws against at Bristol Rovers and Scunthorpe.

The month started at the Lane with another comfortable home success, Billy Sharp got the ball rolling against the Dons, prior to James Hanson scoring on his debut and John Fleck and Caolan Lavery getting on the scoresheet late on.

Hanson was then involved in the decisive moment at London Road, as he headed back across goal for Sharp to nod home what proved to be the winner against Posh, with just three minutes remaining to spark wild celebrations.

Boss Chris Wilder made five changes for the midweek trip to the west country three days and the Blades battled their way to a deserved point.

Then came the double header against our two nearest rivals and that man Sharp led by example once again. Scoring the equaliser in the 1-1 stalemate with the Iron, prior to netting a goal in each half to down Phil Parkinson's Trotters.
