New Chief Operating Officer Andy Birks says he is keen to see United's ladies team 'push on' in the coming years, with the aim to eventually reach the top-flight of the women's game.
Speaking earlier this week, the 39-year-old remarked: "The ladies game is huge and a lot of clubs have missed that opportunity or are missing it.
"We won the East Midlands League last term and that promotion has given us the momentum to push on.
"In time we want to have a team in the Women's Super League, that would be fantastic for both the club and the fans."
Birks added: "We have a lot of female supporters and it would be nice to develop the brand in the city and it would be great to give them some role models.
"We're in a good place, we're positive about the future, now we must plan to get to the top-flight."
