Brooks in determined mood

31 July 2017

David Brooks says he's ready for the challenge of trying to force his way into the Blades first-team on a consistent basis this season.

Speaking after concluding the pre-season programme with a sixth consecutive victory over Eastleigh on Friday, Brooks says his aim for the campaign ahead is a simple one.

He commented: "It's been an excellent pre-season for me personally, I've had a lot of minutes scored a few goals and hopefully I can kick on now and progress further.

"The summer started well for me with England, but I want to get into the United first-team, it will be tough, but I'm up for the challenge."

On the 3-2 victory in Hampshire, Brooks added: "It was a tough game, it was rainy and windy and that made getting the ball down and playing tough and when it went up in the air it was unpredictable where it was going to land."
