The Blades have made a second permanent signing of the transfer window.
Daniel Lafferty, who has enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Blades having arrived on a temporary basis from Burnley on deadline day in August, has penned a two-and-a-half year deal at Bramall Lane and joins for an undisclosed fee.
The experienced performer, 27, who has played as a left back and left wing back during his time as a Blade, has made 22 appearances in red and white, losing just once.
And Chris Wilder is happy to have been able to secure Lafferty's services on a permanent basis. "Dan has been brilliant for us and he is another who has played a big part in helping us get to where we are now.
"He is an international footballer who has played the majority of his football in this country in the Championship and he has proved himself to be a dependable performer. Dan has been part of the success Burnley have enjoyed over recent times and I'm delighted and thankful to our Board for their continued backing."
The permanent signing of Lafferty comes a week after United brought in Samir Carruthers for an undisclosed fee from MK Dons, whilst it has also been confirmed that defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell will remain with the Blades until the end of the season.
