United's U18s moved six points clear at the top of the Professional Development League Two North with another deserved victory at Shirecliffe on Saturday.
This time Crewe were put to the sword as Derek Geary's side made it four wins from five in 2017, with a goal from David Parkhouse and a late brace from Olive Greaves enough to see off the Alex at the SteelPhalt Academy.
After a bright opening, the hosts took the lead in the 19th minute. Brown carried the ball positively down the left and having beat three defenders he squared the ball to PARKHOUSE who slammed home.
At the other end, Ferguson produced an excellent last ditch tackle to preserve the lead, which could have been extended before the break with Greaves and Charlesworth both having chances.
Burton replaced Parkhouse just after the hour but in the 65th minute Crewe levelled from close-range despite the best efforts of Warhurst.
The game was then delayed for 10 minutes as the referee was replaced having suffered a head injury. Upon the resumption and following a positive change the Blades took charge of the game.
With nine minutes remaining, after a free-kick was only cleared to the edge of the penalty area, GREAVES showed great composure before producing an excellent finish into the top corner.
And in the 86th minute it was GREAVES who made sure of the win, picking up a loose ball inside the box before firing across the goalkeeper and into the net.
Blades: Warhurst, Charlesworth, A. Brown, Gilmour, Cantrill, Ferguson, Hawkes (Stewart 74), Ford, Parkhouse (Burton 63), Hirst, Greaves (Portman 90).
Unused: Dewhurst, Weaver.
