United's U18s secured a fourth round tie at Birmingham City by beating Burton Albion in Tuesday's FA Youth Cup third round clash at Bramall Lane.
A second half double from Jordan Doherty saw the Blades to victory over the plucky Brewers.
United started the brighter with a great cross from the right hand side being sliced just wide of the post by Potts.
Burton would respond with some attacking intent of their own as Hutchinson drove into the penalty area but dragged an effort wide of the post.
The visitors then had two golden chances in quick succession with Harrison firing over on the half volley from eight yards and then putting the ball in the side netting from a Hutchinson cut back just moments later.
After the break United made an instant impact as DOHERTY picked the ball up 25 yards out and fired hard and low into the bottom left corner to put the Blades ahead.
United kept up the pressure as Parkhouse was just beaten to a great Slater through ball by goalkeeper Hawkins as the Blades looked to grasp control of the game.
And the lead would be doubled on 62 minutes as DOHERTY produced a great piece of skill flicking the ball over his head and striking on the half volley into the far corner giving the Blades what proved to be a match winning two-goal cushion.
Blades: Dewhurst, Belehouan (Ompreon 79), Williams, Hawkes, Cantrill, Graham, Broadbent, Slater, Parkhouse, Doherty, Potts (Lawrence 72).
